The 1860 Society recognizes alumni and friends whose gifts, when realized, will endow scholarships, programs, professorships, faculty chairs and excellence funds, and will enrich LSU with many resources in the future.
Becoming a member of the 1860 Society is simple. Membership is awarded to anyone who submits documentation through a Letter of Intent or a copy of the portion of one's will that names the LSU Foundation as a beneficiary of his or her estate gift. Other estate gifts include trusts, insurance policies, retirement plans, annuities, etc.
Members of the 1860 Society realize that LSU's next century of success depends on their legacy today. They are our living testimonials to the importance of caring about the future now.
